Overview
basketbadle ("we", "us") is a free daily basketball guessing game available at basketbadle.com. We designed it to collect as little data as possible: there are no accounts, no sign-ups and no personal profiles.
Data stored on your device
Your puzzle progress, statistics, streaks and settings are stored only in your browser's local storage on your device. They never leave your device except as described below, and you can erase them at any time via Settings -> Reset local data or by clearing your browser data.
Community statistics
When you solve a daily puzzle, the app sends an anonymous report to our statistics service so we can show "X players solved today": a randomly generated identifier (a UUID created on your device, not linked to you), the game mode, the puzzle date and your number of guesses. This identifier contains no personal information and is used only to count each player once per puzzle. No IP addresses or device details are stored with these reports.
Third-party services
Images (player photos, team logos and arena photos) are loaded from TheSportsDB, Wikimedia Commons and the images.weserv.nl resizing proxy. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. These services may technically receive your IP address when your browser requests their files, as with any website. We also show advertising through Google AdSense to keep basketbadle free. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads and may receive your IP address; where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before showing personalised ads.
Cookies
basketbadle does not set its own tracking cookies, and local storage is used solely for the gameplay features described above. Our advertising partner, Google AdSense, may set cookies or use similar technologies to serve and measure ads; where required by law we ask for your consent first.
Children
basketbadle is a general-audience game and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
